BLESS Indonesia is seeking an Operations Lead to strengthen the foundation’s internal backbone as our work grows in scope, partnerships, and operational complexity. This role leads our Finance & Administration function, ensuring strong financial management, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and operational controls, while also overseeing People & Culture to support healthy systems, policies, and ways of working.

Bumi Lestari Ekosistem Sejahtera (BLESS) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to accelerating Indonesia’s transition from extractive and monoculture-based practices toward a restorative and regenerative economy. Grounded in Gotong Royong (the spirit of collective action), BLESS supports behavioral and emotional shifts among leaders across government, markets, public narrative, and knowledge systems, creating safe spaces for leaders to breathe, connect, and amplify their impact.
BLESS advances its mission through the Fostering Linkages for Actionable Reform of Economic (FLARE) Project, jointly driven by BLESS Indonesia and Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM), a multi-stakeholder coalition advancing Responsible Bioeconomy through policy advocacy and market innovation. FLARE is anchored in cross-sector collaboration and integrates models such as the Value-Chain Collaboration (VC3) framework to connect upstream producers, downstream markets, and financial institutions, strengthening policies, mobilizing investment, and fostering inclusive innovation across Indonesia’s bioeconomy landscape.
What you’ll do
As Operations Lead, you will shape and run the operational engine that enables BLESS and FLARE to deliver impact with integrity and accountability. Key areas include:
1) Operational strategy & delivery
- Develop overarching operational strategy (long-term, annual, and short-term) and translate it into workplans.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across programs; supervise and support officers and delivery partners as needed.
2) Finance, administration & compliance
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management to maintain organizational financial health.
- Manage donor/grant fund management (allocation mapping, reporting, and compliance with internal and donor policies).
- Oversee end-to-end financial and accounting processes, including audit and financial reporting.
3) Resource & budget coordination
- Track expenditures, support financial reporting, and ensure efficient use of program budgets.
- Support resource mobilization efforts (proposal development, donor engagement, and joint fundraising with BLESS and KEM teams).
4) People & Culture
- Lead People & Culture functions so policies, systems, and practices support a values-aligned, inclusive, high-performing organization.
- Support leadership in implementing fair performance evaluation, feedback, and development processes.
- Identify capacity gaps and support learning and development initiatives; foster a psychologically safe work environment.
5) Operational support for flagship programs
- Oversee operational support across assigned activities, including consultant/partner management, procurement, and event logistics.
What we’re looking for
Essential qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or related fields (Master’s degree in Accounting is an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and operations management, including strategy development and execution.
- Proven experience managing finance (including grants), administration, and people management for donor institutions, NGOs, and/or relevant institutions.
- Strong knowledge of financial, accounting, tax, and grants best practices; experience working with donors and meeting donor requirements.
- Proficiency with financial/accounting software and common computer applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision; able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
