BLESS Indonesia is seeking a Senior Manager for Partnership & Impact to identify, engage, and support leaders whose work advances our core strategy, Fostering Linkages for Actionable Reform of Economic (FLARE). The role is anchored in five impact targets: land protection, emission reduction, workforce transition, increased GDP from nature-based solutions, and reduced dependency on extractive-based GDP. You will assess leadership impact beyond individual projects, connect initiatives to a bigger systems agenda, and strengthen collaborations that contribute to systemic economic reform.

In parallel, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for BLESS cross-cutting functions, including Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), knowledge management, communications, and partnerships. This role helps ensure our work is coherently narrated, strategically communicated, and systematically tracked for learning and impact, strengthening both internal alignment and external credibility.

About BLESS Indonesia

Bumi Lestari Ekosistem Sejahtera (BLESS) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to accelerating Indonesia’s transition from extractive and monoculture-based practices toward a restorative and regenerative economy. Grounded in Gotong Royong (the spirit of collective action), BLESS supports behavioral and emotional shifts among leaders across government, markets, public narrative, and knowledge systems, creating safe spaces for leaders to breathe, connect, and amplify their impact.

BLESS advances its mission through the Fostering Linkages for Actionable Reform of Economic (FLARE) Project, jointly driven by BLESS Indonesia and Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM), a multi-stakeholder coalition advancing Responsible Bioeconomy through policy advocacy and market innovation. FLARE is anchored in cross-sector collaboration and integrates models such as the Value-Chain Collaboration (VC3) framework to connect upstream producers, downstream markets, and financial institutions, strengthening policies, mobilizing investment, and fostering inclusive innovation across Indonesia’s bioeconomy landscape.

Purpose of The Role

In BLESS’s initial phase, the Senior Manager for Partnership & Impact drives strategic engagement with partners and ecosystem actors to accelerate collective progress toward FLARE’s five main targets. You will build and manage high-value partnerships that align priorities, mobilize resources, and enable sustained systemic change. Working closely with the MEL team, you will synthesize data and learning to strengthen accountability and position FLARE as a credible partner and thought leader.

What you’ll do

You will lead work across partnership development, leader engagement, and integrated impact communication, including:

1) Partners and experts engagement

  • Identify, map, and scout partners and experts to support BLESS leadership and resilience programs.
  • Explore collaboration opportunities aligned with FLARE objectives and match partners to leaders or program needs based on strategic fit.
  • Coordinate with internal teams so engagement contributes meaningfully to program objectives and impact tracking.
  • Document partnership insights and learning to inform refinement and future scaling.

2) Strategic engagement and cross-cutting integration

  • Provide overall leadership to align MEL, knowledge management, communications, and partnerships under a unified framework that supports BLESS’s Theory of Change and OKR.
  • Ensure evidence and insights inform decision-making, strategy development, and external communication.
  • Strengthen BLESS voice and thought leadership through evidence-based storytelling and data-informed communication.

3) Leadership pipeline and relationship management

  • Map and engage leadership or fellowship programs that can contribute to FLARE targets, and build relationships for joint identification and nomination of potential leaders.
  • Identify, assess, and scout leaders aligned with FLARE targets, with attention to integrity, values, and long-term systemic influence.
  • Ensure diversity of leaders across sectors, including policy, market, knowledge, and public narrative ecosystems, with specific attention to workforce transition and resilience.
  • Maintain up-to-date leader profiles and nurture relationships through regular communication, serving as a bridge between leaders and internal teams.

What we’re looking for

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, sustainable development, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 9 years of progressive experience, including 4+ years leading cross-functional teams in networks or multi-stakeholder initiatives (candidates with a Master’s degree may qualify with 7 years of relevant experience).
  • Strong ability to assess character, integrity, and potential capability.
  • Proven track record designing or managing partnerships, MEL systems, knowledge platforms, or communication strategies that integrate evidence, engagement, and narrative.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering cross-organization collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking skills, with ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English.
  • High integrity, adaptable, and able to work with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities., dependable, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision; able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with sustainability, climate, and nature-based economy issues in Indonesia or Southeast Asia.
  • Established networks in regenerative or restorative economy communities or leadership development programs.
